jenrgw Washington Teenager to Be Sentenced for Distracted Driving Fatality

Earlier this month a Bellingham, Washington teenage driver was convicted of vehicular homicide.  The conviction comes after a September 2010 car accident that killed a toddler.

Prosecutors alleged that the teenager was paying attention to a backpack in the passenger’s seat when her car hit another car and caused the car in front of her to hit a mother crossing the street with her children.

The teenage driver’s sentencing hearing has been set for July 6, 2011. She faces a potential 13-16 week jail term for this distracted driving fatality.
