jenrgw Utah Woman Critically Injured in Alleged Distracted Driving Crash

Lacey Picard was horseback riding in Summit County, Utah on Monday September 5 when she and her horse were hit by a Jeep.  The horse died in the accident and Ms. Picard was taken to the University of Utah Hospital where she was reported to be in critical condition at the end of last week.

The 16 year old driver of the Jeep has not yet been charged, but police have told the media that they believe speed and distracted driving were factors in this serious crash.

A group of citizens got together a few days after the accident and they have reportedly formed a committee to look into whether Summit County could take control of the roads in Silver Creek and to look at other options for preventing future Utah distracted driving accidents.
