jenrgw US Transportation Secretary Does Not Back NTSB Distracted Driving Recommendation

Earlier this month the NTSB recommended that distracted driving laws be enacted to prohibit all use of cell phones while driving. Last week, US Transportation Secretary, Ray LaHood, responded to the NTSB recommendation. Secretary LaHood has publicly stated that he is not in agreement with the NTSB proposal.

Over the past few years Secretary LaHood has advocated for changes to reduce distracted driving accidents. In last week’s news conference, he stated that hands free cell phone use while driving “is not the big problem.”
