jenrgw The Distracted Driving Danger Extends Well Beyond Car Drivers

In 2009, 65 people were injured and about $10 million of damage was done in a Boston “T” or subway accident.  Now, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has released its formal conclusions about the cause of that crash.

According to the NTSB, a T driver who was text messaging was the likely cause of the accident and resulting injuries and damage.  The report indicates that the driver ran through a yellow light and a red light while texting his girlfriend.  Last December, the driver pleaded guilty to gross negligence and was sentenced to two years probation and 100 hours of community service.  He was also fired from his job.
