jenrgw Texting and Driving Still Legal in Odessa

Late last month, the City Council in Odessa, Texas rejected an ordinance that would ban texting and driving. The Odessa City Council never voted on the ordinance. When a councilman made a motion on the ordinance it was not seconded by another councilmember.

However, when the audience was asked to stand if they supported the ordinance, a majority of those present stood up.  Some citizens pledge to continue their fight for a distracted driving ordinance. Others believe that an ordinance is not the answer to the distracted driving problem.

What do you think? Will a distracted driving ordinance help Odessa fight distracted driving or is it unnecessary?
