jenrgw Texting and Driving Ban Passes Mississippi Senate

Last week the Mississippi Senate approved a ban on texting and driving.  The law, if passed by the House and signed into law, would repeal an earlier law that prohibits teenagers with temporary licenses from texting and driving and instead would apply the ban to all drivers in Mississippi.

Under the proposed Mississippi texting and driving law, anyone found to be texting and driving and involved in an accident could face a fine of $500 -$1,000.

Do you think this law would change the habits of Mississippi drivers?  We will continue to monitor the legislation and to report back if this proposed law, or any other ban on texting and driving becomes the law in Mississippi.
