jenrgw Should You be Glad it is May 23?

According to one study, May 20 is one of the deadliest days of the year for teen car crashes.   The study conducted by All State Insurance Company found that 106 teenagers died in car crashes on May 20, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 or 2009.

It is unclear what causes May 20 to be particularly dangerous day for teens, but evidence suggests that distracted driving is a significant component of the danger.  Graduation, proms, and the upcoming summer can all be cognitive distractions for teens and can lead to an increase in text messaging or distracted conversations within the car.

Now that May 23 is here and May 20 has passed, the danger of distracted driving is hardly over.  Please take our pledge today and do your part to stop distracted driving.
