jenrgw Should Talking on a Cell Phone While Driving a School Bus be a Criminal Offense?

Some Wisconsin lawmakers believe so.    Under the proposal currently before the Wisconsin State Legislature, it would be a crime for a school bus driver to use a cell phone while driving, loading or unloading children.  School bus drivers convicted of talking on a cell phone while driving would face a fine and license revocation.

It is currently against the law for bus drivers, and other drivers, to text and drive in Wisconsin.  The proposed ban on talking on a cell phone while driving would contain an exception if a driver needed to call 911 for emergency help.
