jenrgw NTSB Provides Answers to Fatal 2010 Kentucky Crash

Last week federal officials released information on a 2010 Kentucky crash that killed 11 people.  According to the information released at the National Transportation Safety Board hearing, the truck driver involved in the crash made a call on his cell phone that lasted for one second before the fatal March 26, 2010 accident on Interstate 65.  Further information indicated that the driver had been talking and texting in the hours leading up to the fatal crash.

In that accident, the truck crossed the median and collided with a van.  10 people in the van, and the truck driver, were killed.

Investigators have concluded that distracted driving was the primary cause of the crash and that driver fatigue may have also been a contributing cause.
