jenrgw National Teen Driver Safety Week Starts Sunday

Sunday is the start of National Teen Driver Safety Week across the country.  The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is encouraging parents and schools to use this week to educate teens about the dangers of distracted driving.

Specifically, parents are being urged to set driving contracts with their children, set house rules and explain dangers to their kids.  Schools are being asked to set the expectation that cell phone use while driving is not permitted and to educate students about what could happen if they do use their cell phones to talk or text while driving.

Materials for National Teen Driver Safety Week can be found here.  We encourage you to use this opportunity to begin dialogue with your children or students about the serious risks of distracted driving and to continue the discussion long after the week ends.
