jenrgw National Impaired Driving Prevention Month

President Obama has proclaimed December 2010 to be National Impaired Driving Prevention Month.  The focus of this proclamation is on combating the problems of drunk and drugged driving, as the name implies. However, in his official Presidential Proclamation, President Obama specifically includes distracted driving in the activities to be prevented.

Why is Distracted Driving Included?

According to the Proclamation, distracted driving has been included as a type of impaired driving because distracted driving is a “serious, life threatening practice….”  Mr. Obama goes on to encourage Americans to work together to make our roads safer in order to prevent unnecessarily tragedies this holiday season.

In honor of National Impaired Driving Prevention Month, we invite you to make your personal pledge to prevent distracted driving.
