jenrgw Minnesota Sees Spike in Fatal Crashes in Early August

The first week of August was a dangerous one in Minnesota.  During that week alone, 13 people died in traffic accidents according to the Minnesota State Patrol.  According to one Sergeant with the Minnesota State Patrol the reasons for the increase in fatalities include both speeding and distracted driving.

As drivers see dry roadways free of the common winter perils of ice and snow they may become too comfortable, increase their speed and pay less attention to minimizing distractions.  However, as we have learned this summer, good weather is no time to let your guard down and it is important to minimize distractions every time you get behind the wheel.
