jenrgw Minnesota Crash Allegedly Caused by Texting Driver

A Cloquet, Minnesota man has been accused of causing an accident while texting and driving.  The head on collision occurred on June 5, 2011 at 14th Street and John Road in Cloquet.  The driver of one of the vehicles, Garrett Langenbrunner, allegedly told police that he caused the crash by looking down at his cell phone while he was texting and that by the time he looked up he was in the southbound lane and the collision was unavoidable.

The driver of the other car, Rhonda Stevenson, was taken by ambulance to Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth.  Her four year old grandchild who was in her car was uninjured.  Mr. Langenbrunner suffered minor injuries and did not go to the hospital.  He has been ticketed for inattentive driving, driving without insurance and for texting while driving.

We extend our best wishes to Rhonda Stevenson for a full and fast recovery.
