jenrgw Kansas Distracted Driving Statistics

In 2009, there were 499 Kansas accidents that listed distracted by a cell phone as a contributing factor of the crash.  That is an increase of approximately 25% over Kansas accident data from 2008.  As “distracted by a cell phone” rose significantly as a cause of Kansas crashes, accidents in the state fell by 7% from 2008 to 2009.

Some people believe that 499 is a gross underestimation of the real problem in Kansas.  However, even f the statistics are conservative, the trend is concerning.
