jenrgw Is Your Teen Getting the Message about Distracted Driving?

A new State Farm survey on texting teen drivers had some important, and frightening, results. According to State Farm’s survey conducted in February 2012, only 43% of 16 and 17 drivers said they have never texted and drove. That number remains substantially unchanged since 2010.

The survey also found that 46% of teens with a learner’s permit say their parents talk to them about distracted driving compared to just 22% of teens with a license. We are currently more than halfway through April which is also National Distracted Driving Awareness Month. We urge you to talk to your teens about the dangers of distracted driving for the rest of this month and in the months ahead so that your child does not cause a serious, or fatal, texting and driving crash.
