jenrgw Greenville Police Report Distracted Driving as Growing Problem

Despite Alabama state laws that make it illegal to text and drive and illegal for new teenage drivers to use a handheld cell phone while driving, Greenville police report an increase in cell phone related distracted driving.

Police in Greenville report giving out warnings and tickets for reckless driving when the situation warrants it, but believe that is not enough to curb the problem.  Some officers believe that spreading awareness about the dangers of distracted driving is essential to preventing future crashes.
