jenrgw Fighting Washington D.C. Distracted Driving with Tickets

We may still have a few months until the official end of 2011 but last week the fiscal year ended in the nation’s capital.  During the last fiscal year, Washington D.C. ticketed more than 10,800 drivers for using their cell phones while driving.  Over the last four years, D.C. has averaged almost 12,000 tickets per year for cell phone driving violations.

Do you think Washington D.C. is doing enough to protect drivers from distracted driving accidents or could more be done to keep the streets of the nation’s capital safe?  Please leave a comment and share your thoughts with us.
