jenrgw Enforcement of Delaware Distracting Driving Law

On January 2, 2011 Delaware’s distracted driving law went into effect.  Since then:

  • More than 2,500 drivers have been cited for failing to comply with Delaware’s hands free cell phone use law.
  • More than 339 tickets were issued on April 21, 2011 alone when police departments across the state held an enforcement day as part of National Distracted Driving Awareness Month.
  • More than 30 accidents have occurred in Delaware so far this year because of distracted driving.
