jenrgw Driving Habits of Devoted Pet Owners May be a Distraction

A new survey conducted by AAA and Kurgo, a pet product manufacturer, found that dogs can be significantly distracting to drivers.

The survey found that almost 20% of drivers had taken a hand off of the wheel to prevent a pet from jumping into the front seat.  17% of drivers admit to driving with their pet on their lap, 13% were feeding their pets treats while driving and 3% of drivers even admit to taking pictures of their dog.

AAA recommends that pets sit in the back seat and in appropriate pet restraint systems in order to avoid serious distracted driving accidents.
