jenrgw Do You Let Your Teen Drive With Other People in the Car?

If you answered yes then you are among the majority of parents in the United States, but a recent study conducted by Johns Hopkins University might have you thinking twice about your decision.  The study found that:

  • Teen drivers with one teen passenger have an 86% increased chance of being in a crash; and
  • Teen drivers with two teen passengers have a 182% increased chance of being in a crash.

Despite this significant risk, about 58% of parents allow their teen drivers to transport other teens and nearly 70% let their teens ride with other teen drivers.

Passengers can be distracting to new drivers and the data indicates that those distractions can lead to crashes.  If you, or your child, have been hurt by a teen driver, please contact a distracted driving lawyer today for more information about your rights.
