jenrgw Distracted Driving Isn’t Only About Cell Phones

Despite increased media coverage and public awareness campaigns, distracted driving is not a new problem.  It is not solely related to high tech gadgets.  It is not always about texting and driving.

Last week, for example, two people were hurt in a Lower Makefield accident.  The two vehicle crash happened at the intersection of Route 432 and Disk Road.  The accident occurred when 29 year old Meredith Rothschield hit 60 year old Richard Newman from behind as Mr. Newman was trying to make a left hand turn.  Police report that Ms. Rothschield was distracted on her way to work and that she looked down at the dashboard clock and adjusted her sun visor just before the collision.

Both drivers were taken to St. Mary Medical Center for treatment of their accident injuries.
