jenrgw Distracted Driving in New York During 2012

So far this year, New York State Police report that 65,081 tickets have been issued for violations of the hand held cell phone ban. Governor Cuomo says the tickets, and the increased police crackdowns on handheld cell phone use are meant to show New Yorkers, and others driving in state, that New York is serious about enforcing distracted driving laws.

Without enforcement, distracted driving laws are worthless and will not have the intended effect of curbing distracted driving accident injuries and fatalities.
