jenrgw Delaware Distracted Driving Law Goes Into Effect on Sunday

No grace period is expected when Delaware’s new ban on distracted driving goes into effect on Sunday January 2, 2011.

The new law, which will be enforced starting this Sunday, prohibits all handheld electronic devices while driving.  This makes Delaware’s distracted driving law among the toughest on the books.  In Delaware, drivers may not text and drive, use the internet and drive, read an electronic book and drive or hold a cell phone and drive.

Will this law prevent accidents and save lives on Delaware roads?  We will be watching to find out.
