jenrgw Attention Employers – Do Your Employees Use a Cell Phone and Drive?

A recent survey conducted by software company ZoomSafer indicates that the majority of employers may be looking the other way when it comes to employees who use a cell phone while driving.  The study found that while many employers have a policy that prohibits using a cell phone or texting while driving, many employers do not enforce those policies.

It is important that employers realize they may have potential liability if an employee is using a cell phone for work purposes during work hours and is in an accident.  Thus, employers should consider developing policies against distracted driving, enforcing those policies and reminding employees about distracted driving laws in their state.
