jenrgw A Look at the Wisconsin Texting and Driving Ban One Year Later

Next month will mark the one year anniversary since Wisconsin passed its statewide ban on texting and driving. The law, enacted in December 2010, went into effect January 1, 2011.

Officials report that in the first 10 months of the ban, there were at least 169 tickets issued by state and local police. However, officials also report that the law is difficult to enforce because people try to hide the fact that they are texting and driving.
