On November 9, 2011 Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett signed a bill that allowed his state join the majority of other states in the nation that ban texting and driving.
As of March 8, 2012 it will be illegal to read, write or send a text message, email, or instant message while operating a moving vehicle in Pennsylvania. Drivers are also prohibited from browsing the web while driving.
